AI Literacy for Public Health Advocacy and Communication

AI is rapidly shaping how people access and interpret health information – through chatbots providing health information to AI applications for mass public health messaging. At the same time, public health leaders lack the technical literacy to effectively assess the risks and benefits of AI integration. This interactive workshop seeks to build foundational AI literacy for public health advocates, and to equip participants with practical tools to evaluate AI-generated health information, communicate about AI-related risks and opportunities, and to engage in advocacy conversations about AI governance in public health.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
Evaluate AI-powered health information tools using a public health communication and advocacy framework.
Identify strategies to advocate for transparency, accountability, and equity in AI-enabled health communication systems.
