Opioid West Hack-A-Thon+ 2018

Play an impactful role in developing solutions for the opioid crisis thisOct 14th-15th! Opioid West Hack-A-Thon+ 2018, featuring the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is dedicated to finding unique solutions to issues surrounding the opioid crisis, and supporting the winning teams to IMPLEMENT their ideas into public health research and policymaking.There are tracks in software development, data science, artificial intelligence, and data visualization, allowing for a wide variety of solutions. This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for people interested in computer programming, data analytics, data visualization, user design/experience, medicine, public health, and public policy.We are taking 25 teams, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. There are $5,000 prizes for the winning teams of each of the four tracks. The winners also will receive mentorship to further develop their technologies, and travel support to present their work at an academic conference and meet with key collaborators to help teams implement their solutions.
