The County of Santa Clara Public Health Department Tobacco-Free Communities Program is pleased to share two new funding opportunities for community
organizations and youth to apply to work on tobacco prevention activities in Santa Clara County. Please find details of each outlined below and
application documents attached to this email. We encourage you to please share these opportunities with your networks of partners and contacts
to promote widely as appropriate.

 

Community Engagement Activity (CEA) Grants – Up to $5,000 (Applications due July 14, 2021)

The County of Santa Clara Public Health Department Tobacco-Free Communities Program is releasing funding to support community-based tobacco prevention
activities focused on reaching populations who suffer disproportionately because of social conditions and aggressive tobacco industry marketing.
This funding is intended to recognize the assets and strengths of the county’s diverse community organizations and populations, and an opportunity
for organizations to incorporate tobacco prevention activities in existing programming. CEA funding is available to organizations currently based
in at least one city within Santa Clara County and primarily serving one or more populations disproportionately impacted by tobacco use and tobacco-related
diseases, including: African American/African-Ancestry/
Black, Latinx, Asian-American and Pacific Islander, LGBTQ+, people with behavioral health conditions, uninsured/Medi-Cal populations, homeless
or unhoused individuals, and/or military personnel/veterans. Organizations can be awarded funding of up to $5,000. Applications

Youth Action Project (YAP) Grants – Up to $3,500 (Applications due June 14, 2021)

The County of Santa Clara Public Health Tobacco-Free Communities Program, in partnership with Breath California of the Bay Area, is releasing funding
for Youth Action Projects. YAP aims to mobilize youth from across Santa Clara County to explore and showcase how tobacco and vaping has affected
them, their peers, and their community. It a great opportunity for youth to engage their peers, allow them to integrate their ideas, and utilize
their creative skills. This is a youth-led project, therefore youth groups and/or youth coalitions (ages 13-20 years old) are encouraged to apply.
If selected, the youth organization will be awarded funding of up to $3,500. Applications are due Monday, June 14, 2021.
