On April 7, 2019 from 12:00pm-5:00pm, the American Kidney Fund will host our annual Kidney Action Day at theSan Jose Flea Market. We are the nation’s leading non-profit whose mission is to help people fight kidney disease and live healthier lives.Kidney Action Day forms part in that mission by increasing awareness of kidney disease and its top two leading causes, high blood pressure and diabetes while encouraging a healthier community. We are getting a head start in searching for volunteers and would love to have your group participate through offering us volunteer services conducting Kidney Health Education Sessions.
The event not only includes free health screenings for kidney disease, diabetes and high blood pressure but we will also have healthy food samplings, community resources and family friendly activities. It is expected that approximately 300 participants attend and more than 200 people will be screened for kidney disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. I believe this is a wonderful opportunity for your organization because it provides students with first-hand interactions in their fields while bettering their community. Event details can be found below along with a sign up link to secure your volunteer position. The last day to sign up is March 19th and spots are first come, first serve.
